Back in France for 2 weeks...and during summer! - June 2006

This time, I'm writing in english to allow my "English speaking friend" to follow my little adventure in france last June. Here I am, straight out from the airport, looking at "Le Palais du Luxembourg" with a baguette, a "saucisson", a piece of cheese and some fresh cherries...
Still waiting for my train to go south to my parent's place, I stopped in front of Serge Gainsbourg's graveyard in Montparnasse cemetery.

After the wedding of my friends Max and Isa (see photos on the next message), I spent few days at Fouras (on the Atlantic coast) with my mate Sylvestre. His parents have got a lovely house right on the see front!

First day, rock melon and fresh crabs from the seefood market...

...and some cheese of course!

It's not his parents' house but their neighbourgh's! Having said that, Sylvestre's house is just like paradise!

Every evening, we played a game of petanque over-looking the ocean and the town castle. Of course, we had some goodies to help us playing better!

We were not alone in Fouras, a fan of Johnny Haliday (the equivalent of Barnsie for Australian music scene) was touring the town with a photo of the star on the hood, driving his little no-licence car with leather gloves!!

we went on an island called "Ile d'Aix" for 1 day by bike (and ferry!). This little cute Island is well known because there are no cars allowed and that Napoleon stayed there before being deported by the british.

Tough life, reading a book on the beach while drinking a little glass of Pernod!!

View from the island on "Fort Boyard", an old prison surendered by the ocean.

We had a coffe/beer stop at this lovely restaurant on the way back to the ferry.

Traditional fishing hut with a net at the end to catch crabs, prawn...only working at high tide for sure!

After this few days on the coast, I went to visit my brother Guillaume and my sister Mathilde and all my nieces and nephews. First stop at my brother's place in La Chataigne, a small farmer village pretty much in the middle of France. I was really happy to see Benjamin (at the back) and Timothee again. They are so cute!

Timothee is having a crack at his "Nutella" toast.

After visiting my brother, we all went down to my sister's place in Montbazon, south of Tours to watch the world-cup semi final France VS Portugal. All the kids (Timothee, Benjamin, Emile, Alice and the little one Leonie) having their diner in my sister's kitchen.
Leonie putting up her cranky little face after being told to stop stuffing her self with pate and dry saussages!!
Leonie again but this time with her cute smiling face after having played in the kiddy pool with her clothe on.

Finally, before jumping on my plane for Brisbane, I stopped at Loic and Sandra's place in Paris to say hi and to see this cute little Lilla!
